Hey everyone, me again. Hope your summer is treating you well? Today is summer solstice where we see the longest day of the year, daylight wise, that is! From tomorrow the days get shorter, and that’s a bummer. Where does the time go, I am struggling to understand how we got to almost the end of June already. Slow down summer, I want to enjoy it. Roll on the weekend and then I will be with my boys whom I love so much, Nathan and Bentley ❤

Had a great trip to Geneva last week for a few days. Had a chance to visit with the awesome Hans Ru and the team there. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It has been super busy with our lovey Pearl back and needed to be turned around to head off again on it’s around the world adventures. So there went the weekend. Nothing new there!

I just checked and I published a blog 15 days ago, and that seems like it was a lifetime ago. I recently attended an appointment with my Cardiologist In London, who had me for a follow up as my treatment completed in September 2017. He wanted another echocardiogram and ECG, as well as more blood. Go on, you know you want it. I am so sick to death of blood tests, but you know something, it doesn’t really affect me any more. Just do the job, I am over it. Then to be told my when looking at the results, that my heart rhythm is different when it retracts than it was before treatment. OMG, I had not even thought of anything like that! I was so not ready for Dr Lyon’s in-depth descriptive of my heart function. The only way to check it thoroughly is with blood tests. So the waiting game begins once again.

To be honest, I am over it, all of it, the doctor’s appointments, the follow-ups, the constant reminder of what I have been through. I just want to move on but I don’t think you ever can. Every little thing that goes wrong, is far more important than it ever used to be.  Luckily Dr Lyon didn’t keep me waiting too long for the results. The letter was emailed to me a few days after attending his clinic. I was DISCHARGED! Yipee, yee haw! Doesn’t want to see me again, my blood pressure is great (as long as it’s not taken when talking wedding finances lol), my cholesterol normal and blood sugar too! I must be doing something right. But. yes, there is a but, it seems that I am reflecting signs of a hypertensive strain of an early diastolic effect of the Doxorubicin Chemotherapy! Fuck me that is a mouthful and don’t blame the messenger. What next?

Back in the chop shop again this week 😉

For the past few months, I mean for some time now I have had a spot on my temple (hairline) which at first seemed like nothing but dry skin. It has however changed over time and become more and more obvious. It has grown in size and when asking my GP or Oncologist about it, the answer is: I don’t do skin. Love that they are honest at least. The latest was, it could be cancer, better get it checked out. Getting a GP appointment here is like a battle in itself. Minimum 3 weeks waiting and then some. Then getting a referral is the next task, private does matter. Don’t ever take that for granted, if you don’t have private health insurance, go get some now. It’s worth its weight in gold.

I met with Dermatologist, Dr Sewell yesterday at the Gatwick Park Spire Hospital and she definitely looked the business. She talked the talk and after her examination of my ‘spot’ she was like, do you want to do a biopsy right now? This takes me back to ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ when Andrea Martin says they did a bibopsy and there was my twin sister haha! Love that scene. Back to me, yes, of course, I want to do it now. Let’s get it over with and find out what this is. She also mentions it could be an age thing…getting slightly annoyed now.

So after completing all the consent paperwork, I am in whisked into the room where the procedure will be done. Dr Sewell goes from sexy babe to scrubs, she had all the kit on. I was asked to lie down and before I knew it I was being injected into my temple area, this was not a pleasant one, I can assure you. A few minutes later and the biopsy is done and I am being stitched up, 3 stitches because I was bleeding like a bitch, not the Doc’s words of course. Stitches out in a week and hopefully, we get to the bottom of what it is. If it’s cancer so be it, I will deal with it, if not, get rid of it regardless. In the meantime, Dr Sewell said I could go back to my modelling career, minimal scarring. Everyone is a comedian!

One man’s never-ending journey

So let’s touch on some more positive news. My friend and colleague Diane, who I wrote about in my last blog, is back to work. Yes back to work. 3 half-days a week for now and then more from July. Do you know something, she is a fighter, a soldier. I am so proud of her for being so positive and getting back to normal life as soon as possible. She is even driving. Remember when I mentioned what life is like if you only have the sight in one eye. I am going to be selfish here, it’s great to have her back. More and more people are being affected by this bastard ‘Cancer’ and really we have to do all we can to live as normal lives as possible. I am so serious it changes who you are for good.

Cheesy Selfie in Geneva last week!

Until next time, I am back to some ‘wedmin’, which is becoming more and more intense. I promise not to become a groomzilla! I got the spreadsheet under control (he says!). Bless, Nathan is not used to spreadsheets haha! So excited I cannot tell you. I am so looking forward to May 11th, 2019. It will be the real ‘Royal Wedding’.

Love and Light
